Oven & Range Repair FAQ

Can't find the answer you need? Call us at (916) 743‑3279.

A burned-out bake element is the most common cause. A failed temperature sensor, thermal fuse or control board can also stop the oven from heating.

A gas oven igniter must draw enough current to open the gas safety valve. As igniters weaken with age they can still glow but not open the valve, so the burner never lights. Replacing the igniter usually fixes it.

Self-clean cycles run at very high temperatures and can occasionally cause a thermal fuse, door lock or control board to fail, especially on older ovens. If your oven stops working after self-clean, we can diagnose and repair it.
